Welcome to the Moon!

I am by no means a professional astrophotographer.
Regardless, I've taken some pictures & decided to make a page for them.

The camera is a Canon Powershot G5 using a 7.2 - 28.8mm wide-angle lens.
All the pictures are either hand-held or mounted on Orion's SteadyPix camera mount. They are all afocal or "through-the-eyepiece" photos.
Don't' forget to hold your cursor over the pix for additional messages and information.

Our Sister Moon

I hope I labeled it right!

Below are some pictures of craters that appeared along the terminator the night I was photographing with the Meade 16" Starfinder. They were cropped from the large image above.

I like the shadow the central mountain cast inside the crater.    He catalogued the skies the Stars

The crater is nearly 60 miles square & named after an 11th century Arabian Astronomer

This crater was not along the terminator but is South of the Spitzenberger Mountains in the Mare Ibrium.

3rd Century Greek Mathmatician and Physicist

The next two pictures are composites I made.

Mostly made to show the differnce between the raw image and after is has been stacked.    I saw an article in an astronomy magazine and thought I'd find it myself

This nice little picture was taken in broad daylight with Orion's ST80.

A nice shot during daylight hours

The pictures below were taken with the Meade LXD55-AR5

The Moon is about 1/3 the diameter of Earth
